Michael Biehn biography

Michael Biehn

Born: Michael Connell Biehn

Date of Birth: July 31, 1956

Born in Anniston, Alabama, Michael grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and at the age of 14, he moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona with his family. It was there that he graduated from high school and won a scholarship to the University of Arizona.

He soon moved on to Los Angeles and started modeling and doing commercials and small TV roles. In 1978, Michael was cast as Mark Johnson, the hard-veneered but vulnerable ward of psychiatrist Robert Reed, in the TV series Operation Runaway. For the next few years, malevolence was Michael's on-screen strong suit, first as the psycho title character in 1981's The Fan , then as the neo-fascist military-school upperclassman in The Lords of Discipline (1982).

He hit the big-time when he was cast as Kyle Reese, the man sent back through time to stop Arnold Schwarzenegger in James Cameron's The Terminator (1984). This established a good working relationship with Cameron, a relationship which should have catapulted Biehn to international stardom. He continued working with Cameron landing roles in such blockbusters as Aliens (1986) and The Abyss (1989).

In the 90's he has starred in films like Navy SEALS (1990), K2 (1991) and he was particularly memorable as Johnny Ringo in Tombstone (1993).

Michael has two sons, Caelan and Alexander, with his wife, Gina Marsh, although they're now separated. He also has twin boys, Devon and Taylor, from his first marriage to actress Carlene Olson. He currently lives in Sherman Oaks, California. When not on set, Michael practices martial arts.
