Roger Bart biography
Date of Birth: September 29, 1962
Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, Roger Bart earned a Tony nomination for his hilarious portrayal of Carmen Ghia in the award-winning Broadway musical The Producers, starring Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane. Eventually, Bart moved on to play the lead role of Leo Bloom. In 1999, he won a Tony Award as well as a Drama Desk Award for his performance as Snoopy in the Broadway revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Eventually, Bart reprised the role of Carmen Ghia in the movie version of The Producers (2005).
An accomplished singer, Bart's first feature film experience was providing the singing voice for Young Hercules in Disney's animated feature Hercules(1997). His first appearance in a film was playing a hotel manager in The Insider(1999), starring Russell Crowe and Al Pacino. He then provided the singing voice of Scamp in the video release Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure (2001) before landing the regular role of Paul in the CBS sitcom Bram and Alice. The series lasted less than a season, but Bart bounced back with a lead role in The Stepford Wives (2004), starring Nicole Kidman.
He has also appeared on the TV crime dramas Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and played a recurring role as George in Desperate Housewives. In 2006, he shared a SAG Award with the rest of the cast of Desperate Housewives.
