During the Second World War, Navy officer Krause (Tom Hanks) is given his first command of a Navy destroyer. He leads the convoy of Allied ships across the North Atlantic, and for five days they do not have any air cover. During their journey, the crew comes across a Nazi U-boat, but swiftly destroy it. Soon after, they discover a wolfpack of ships ready for attack. Krause has already lost nearly 50 men, his crew must now fight to fend off the hundreds of U-Boats, and protect their remaining ships.
