The official trailer for the French film Being 17 begins in winter as two teenage boys walk side by side. They steal glances at one another before Thomas (Corentin Fila) shoves Damien (Kacey Mottet Klein) into a snowbank.
As the trailer continues, we see Damien interact with his mother Marianne (Sandrine Kiberlain). Marianne inquires about Thomas, who we learn has been adopted. Damien tells Marianne that Thomas is a loner and it's made clear that the boys don't get along - we see them glare at each other and fight. But Marianne informs Damien that she's invited Thomas to stay with them. Gradually, the boys begin to develop a relationship and over time, as they discover themselves and each other, it turns romantic.
