The trailer for Daniel Cross' documentary I Am the Blues opens as a man on the stoop of a convenience store proclaims, "This guitar's a bible!" From that moment on, the viewer is given access to the last of the original blues devils. We see legend Bobby Rush suit up for a performance and we also witness several other iconic blues greats discuss the source of their treasured music.
The trailer takes us down to the deep south where we are invited into bars and churches, across swamps, around campfires, and into the comfort of the artists' own homes.
