Kongwen Lu (Dong Zijian) is the author of the book Godslayer. Tu Ling's (Yang Mi) boss' health starts to decline as he continues to read Kongwen Lu's novel. Concerned for her boss, Tu Ling hires Guan Ning in order to track down Lu and kill him. Amidst his investigation, Guan Ning begins to notice that the novel affects reality, and now also finds himself fighting to survive in the fictional world of Godslayer.
