Tomas and Sofia have lived in Montreal a long time, but Sofia is feeling homesick for Latin America. One day, they befriend another couple, Luisa and Mariano, recent arrivals who are feeling adrift. Luisa speaks longingly to Tomas and Sofia of the Charuflauta, an apparently curative procedure for the melancholy.
Sofia pushes Tomas to help Luisa and Mariano launch a local Charuflauta agency. Though he doesn't have a clue what it's all about, Tomas agrees, and soon enough the four partners start up a business dedicated to providing this peculiar service. When their first clients request the procedure, a poignant comedy of errors ensues.
