When a group of teenagers rob a grocery store, it turns deadly. Part of that group is Oscar (Michael Pitt), who ran away when he was a child and met Peaches. Peaches introduces him to her "family of broken toys," a group of other runaways living a life of violence and pickpocketing. Oscar reveals he ran away because he committed a murder to help his best friend Loux (Sam Quartin). Now 15 years later, Oscar is the leader of the runaways, using violence to get what he wants, and Loux has moved to the same city, where she has a job with a private investigator. She wants to use her connections to help save Oscar from his life of crime.
