Very brutal and grusome just like all of Mel Gibson`s films he`s acted and directed. I enjoyed this one.

A pretty good film, had a good story to it, however certainly would not rate it as a 5 star. But a good watch.

Wicked Film. Although there is a little gore . . . it`s awesome and it puts you in the context of a violent society - no Sugar Coating. It`s a must see film!

This movie was stunning! You really want to get up and cheer for Jaguar Paw. Mel has great storytelling abilities!

Stunning movie. Gibson certainly doesn`t back away from difficult projects. Yes it was violent, yes it was gruesome, but yes it was necessary for the plot to be developed and to be believable. Hats off to a courageous bit of film making.

Everything about the movie was superb. Acting, camera work, setting, action etc. The only thing that brings it down for me is the plot, which is predictable and way too linear for me.

The fact that people enjoyed this movie scares me. The violence and gore is very intense. Is our society so desensitized that this level of intensity is entertaining? I must agree, the moview was well done for it is still sticking with me and will stick with me for a long time to come. I just think the movie was too gory for it left nothing to the imagination. It made me feel queezy. I personally belive the movie would have been more enjoyable if the gore level was reduced to a more tolerable level. By the way 95% of the audience were male. If you are sensative in the sightest... DO NOT GO!

This is such a violent movie that we walked out. Do not under any circumstances go to this movie. Mel Gibson is clearly insane.

*0*0*---*0*0 Alas, a fine piece of work this movie. Portrayal of old Mayan culture was pretty convincing and a unique way of how history is re-told. Mel Gibson should continue along this path of history telling. He should do historical films which touch upon aspects of different cultures that make up N. America, areas seldom told in schools. In doing so, spread knowledge and more importantly plant the seeds of understanding & appreciation.

I thought it was a really intense show. Most like dances with wolves. Showed a blood thirsty culture don`t know how accurate that is, but I did keep in mind it was made by someone assuming things could have happened this way.

Awesome!! The plot is simple, yet, very intense and packed with action throughout the whole movie. It`s your loss if you don`t see it. Two thumbs up!

BRILLIANT!!! What else can you really say.Mel continues to top himself over and over again.He has come up with the best movie of the year original and captivating.THIS SHOULD PUT IT IN THE BOOKS BESIDE SHINDLERS LIST.It does contain disturbing viloence and gore but it is a important part of the movie itself.Please do not allow your children to view this movie...

What I liked most about this film was its faithfulness to history. It rightly shows what can happen when a civilisation becomes corrupt and barbaric.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! You can`t "over sell" this film. It`s completely mezmerizing from start to finish. If you don`t like subtitles don`t worry - Either do I and I didn`t even notice because I was so captivated.

This movie contained alot of violent and gruesome scenes. I did not like this aspect of the movie; however, those scenes could have been quite close to reality when sacrifices, hostile takeovers and destruction of civilization was quite a normal thing to do. In that sense, Mel did a fantastic job of portraying that image and actually making the audience FEEL their pain and suffering. It`s quite an interesting movie. Either you will like it (because of the storyline and acting, which btw was excellent) or you will hate it (because of the gore).

I expected something totally different from the preview and synopsis. Should have been rated R as the gore and violence was too disgusting to bear. I almost puked. Pure EVIL.

i enjoyed this movie, there were times when the actors were a little more dramatic than they needed to be...and the ending was very dumb..it seemed like he just kind of stuck that in out of no where because he didnt know how else to end the movie!..but it was good overall.

Epic talent displayed by all, from the actors, director all the way through to set, costumes and make-up. Truly a compelling insight into how the Mayan culture might have been. I was so amazed, when it was over I felt like I had been holding my breath the whole time.

A very good Movie even though It was in a different language I enjoyed it very much. Mel Gibson always does a good job at directing these kind of films. 5 out of 5 stars I would give it.

Truly magnificent. This movie goes against the typical hollywood blockbuster as it is in a foreign language with subtitles and has no name actors. Still, if you choose not to see this movie on account of those, your obviously a dim-wit who can`t take a slice of historical reality. After all, we wouldn`t wanna see brad pitt playing a Mayan warrior now would we? This movie is deep, in terms of the fact that Mel clearly did his homework. The story itself is simple, a man stolen from his home and taken to a new city, where he must inevitably break free and make it back to his family. As I watched the movie, I did not get into the real concept until the middle part of the movie. The scenes were quite gruesome and too violent but well-filmed. The performances of the actors involved were quite amazing. The overall performance of the movie is a 4-star rating. I would not recommend friends to see this. But I would keep this as one of my favorite movies.

Mel is so amazing it blows my mind .....the greatness of the movie and his skills can also been seen in the fact that Mel doesn`t need big names to sell his work! When you watch one of his movies you are watching his art at work - not a personality - "a star" that everyone has come to see. It is funny how no names can top the box office against all those big names......... it`s gotta tell you something!!!
