Blair witch meets New York meets motion sickness. The commercials are the most stable parts of the movie... everything else is shaky as hell. Be forewarned.

If you get motion sickness, do NOT watch this movie. Documentary type movie that doesn't really have a purpose, so you leave the movie thinking.... that's it?? It's not Godzilla.. some stupid monster with these little spider things that fall off the body.

WOW... Give huge credit to the marketing team behind this movie. The trailer is the only thing worth watching. If you enjoyed Blair Witch you may enjoy this but the camera does not stop shaking the entrie move. Wait for the Bootleg Copies Folks.

4 stars, dont listen to most of these narrow minded movie goers that probably enjoyed movies like glitter, son of the mask, and you got served. Cloverfield brought a completely different approach to a monster movie! although making me sick with the camera movement it still was entertaining, and im pretty sure they spent more then 5 dollars on visual effects. they were insane

Complete waste of time. It's just a collection of shaky clips shot on a video camera that gave me a headache. This is not a real movie, it's a SCAM. Don't waste your time & money!

Worthless movie, Those people who loved it are total tools that bought into the viral marketing campaign and can't admit to themselves that they were suckered. Bad acting, insipid characters with horrible dialogue. I don't mind movies with no plot or character development if the rest of the movie makes up for it, but this movie had nothing going for it except the youtube video cam gimmick. the special FX would have been okay if the movie was made on a budget of 50grand but it cost over 30 million so the FX were not even up to par. Most useless waste of my time and money.

Not worth the hype!Novelty of hand held filming wears off quickly.With characters you don't care about and a lame beast.Probably would have worked better as a regular monster film with traditional filming.Where is Godzilla when we need him?

Amazing! Excellent story, acting, visuals, very suspenseful. The monster was wicked once we got a good look at him, so different. My only negative about the film is that at times the "jumpiness" of the camera was a bit much to take. I would definitely recommend this movie and I'll be seeing it again in the theater.

Horriable, the camera was constantly shaking and it made me almost throw up from motion sickness several times. I left near the end cause i couldn't take any more. Waste of money!!!

they don't even explain anything at the end. Wtf is the thing? Where did it come from? They should have done a conclusion at the end of the movie to explain everything and what happened after. I agree, it's should be on DVD not in theaters.

Excellent movie. For the people that think this movie was short, how much longer do you think its possible for people to sit watching a shaky camera? This movie delivered exactly what it advertised, a monster attack on the city of new york being presented in a dynamic way. Hats off to the makers of this film. For the people who didnt like this movie, what the heck else were you expecting? Follow the online viral marketing. Otherwise shut your mouths and watch 27 dresses or something.

This movie was absolutely worth the price of admission and thensome; I was completely enthralled! An interesting presentation -- sort of like The Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla (although the monster is not Godzilla). There were times when the jittery camera work made me a bit queasy, but I'm sure that was the intended effect. The story line was very absorbing, and the casting of unknown actors was a great idea. Awesome special effects (I doubt those that said the SP/FX were horrible went to the same movie I did) -- and the very "non-Hollywood" ending was good, and likely very off-putting for some folks (and likely the reason why some people would give a knee-jerk poor review of the movie

i thought it waz intense! but it didnt really answer any questions like wut waz the monster exactly?, where did it come from?, and y didnt it die after being hit by like 5 000 bombs? but overall i thought it waz sweet.. but 1 more thing the ending S - U - C - K - E - D!!!! and didnt make sense but ya worth seeing

Are you people talking about the same movie I saw. You say this movie had bad effects but they were awesome. One of the best movies I have ever seen. God. The special effects were sick. God the only reason you hated this movie is because you spewed all over the front row. It was sick and awesome. GO SEE IT DONT LISIN TO THESE PEOPLE

I've seen a lot of monster movies... and this one I found to be boring. Its a great concept... but the sheer stupidity of the people involved and the video angle got old fast. The first hour is pretty much the trailer.

I am an optimistic guy but this movie was not good....after the movie was done, two young clerks at the movie theater, waited right outside to mock us. Asked us if we needed puke bags and that there were no refunds.

Amazing, this movie brings it to life. it feels real all the specail effects make it seem real and many will most likly under rate this not taking into consideration how it was filmed seamlessly. i cant get over it. it worth your time and judge it yourself. it feels like a 3D ride and feels like your really in new york, film making history Cloverfield WILL CLEAN UP AT AWARD SHOWS! its ground breaking.

I've never been so motion sick from watching a film ever. I wasn't alone. There was just as long of a line up to get my money back as there was to see the film in the first place. Save your time and money.

This Movie had it's moments were I was scared and clenching onto my bf's hand. Things I didn't like was the way they filmed this movie, it was way to shakey because one of the characters is carrying around a camera himself. (not impressed) Lacked a lot of content. 90% of people missed what happened at the end of the movie, so you need to pay attention to what happens in the water. I missed it and I was watching. overall, it was alright. see it if you want to.

I'm not sure what all the disillusioned viewers who previously reviewed were expecting. I was really nervous having read who much it was supposed to stink, but I thought it was pretty great. Lots of holes and stuff, sure, but I was on the edge of my seat from the first rumble.

The storyline was interesting and surprisingly good. It really felt creepy. Too bad the filming choice was nauseating. They didn't need to do that to make the movie interesting. I would have rather watched a steady, clear movie.

Very much liked the premise and the camcorder effect, but was disappointed by the sudden ending. Much of the audience sat in disbelief when the closing credits started rolling.

This movie was very entertaining. The movie focused on a small group of friends and not the typical "hype" that HOLLYWOOD usually puts out. For once the action feels real and not just a special effects riddle movie. This movie will leave you talking about all he subplots that could derive from this movie. Well worth to see in the theatre.

If you liked the movie "The Blair Witch Project" then you will like Cloverfield. The movie is similar in that its all filmed using a portable camera. The scenes are jumping around alot,which may cause your stomach to get queezy. I'd suggest sitting way in the back row. The movie does show some real good shots of the creature attacking the city, so its not like you wont see action. The ending is also similar to TBW in which the movie just ends with no real conclusion. However all in all id say a good movie.

movie wasent bad , shot from victims point of view, photography was ridiculously over unfocused to resemble "camcorder video" take a gravol befor watching to avoid motion sicknes from the cameras constant panning and refocusing
