This movie was a disappointment, no story line, very unfocused, and was a headache to watch. Worst movie I've seen in a long time.

Im only giving it 2 stars because of that monster other than that the movie is a 0. There was no stroy line, no premis of the movie on how the monster got there. It was just "THERE" LOL. the whole movie is in first person. So if you like to have motion sickness definitly go to this movie LOL. i wouldnt even rent it it was horrible.

Whoever is saying the Special effects were bad has a sever mental handicap. Great fluidity through out keeps u right into the film and on the edge of your seat.

The "movie" itself was excellent. The only problem with it is the way in which it was filmed. With a handheld video camera. I understand that they were trying to give you the first person POV, however the camera shakes so much that it actually gave some people a headache. Other then that, it had a gerat story to it, a great concept and it was simply an incredible movie.

Biggest and most horrible mistakes in the history of film Making, Directing, Writing, Editing, Casting, and Promotion. It’s Stupid, Obnoxious, Unbearable, Eyes-destructive, waste of Time, Energy and Money. If you value your time on this planet, please avoid seeing this movie…life is too short to be wasted on something like this!!!

Stole the concept from Blair Witch Project but overall a lot of fun. Anyone who didn't like this movie may better like Enchanted or Juno...

Great film! Cloverfield was amazingly shot, taking into consideration it's Blair Witch Project-esq filming. Makes you wonder just how much post-production work actually went into adding all those special FX into a film that looks like it's shot on a home video camera... very realistic.

Awesome! If you didn't enjoy this you've seen Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween too many times. This movie is fresh in its approach and clever in its delivery. Better than most horror films in the last 5 years.

Hands down the best monster film. All monster films are all from the monster's point of view (where it came from, what it's powers are, etc) this movie really brings something new to monster films, the perspective of the people in it's path.

I love Sci-fi ,this was ok but i think it could have bin done a lot better. If they make a Part 2 hope it's done in a normal movie format and fills in all the Questions. What,where,how.......need more!

For the person who said if I didn't like this movie I was too stupid to be in public - I disagree. This movie was so disappointingly lame that they felt the need to distract and disorient me from the lack of story with gimmicky camera shots. Want a good action movie with NY destroyed - watch I Am Legend.

Don't go to this movie expecting something new and wonderful in the world of cinema. Do go to this movie expecting an entertaining monster movie. I managed to avoid most of the hype when I went and saw Cloverfield, I did figure it was gonna be a monster movie of some type. Without saying anything about it - it is probably one of the best monster movies made, which really isn't saying much, as most monster movies are crap. This one is filmed all from the viewpoint of a handheld, (think Blair Witch Project) which some might find frustrating. The view is often jiggly and not aimed where you wish it was, which adds to the movies realism, but as I said, can be frustrating. --- THE GOOD: the movie

This one's a renter. P.O.V. films aren't all bad, but not much good for monster movies. There's rarely a good shot of the monster and it's difficult to figure out what's going on when the screen shakes constantly. It's like watching Godzilla while having a seizure, you miss half the action with all the shaking. People go to see movies like this for the action. The special effects are good and the acting is okay but it's a cheap theatre movie at best.
