This movie comes up a little short.

Peter Drinklege ( spelling ?). Is an amazing actor. He carries the entire film.

LOVE Cyrano. Every productions a lil different, but all are worthwhile. Enjoyed the acting and music, et al, and Peter playing Cyrano was was great idea. Well done!👍 some commenting on the big nose thing is NOT the point at all…….

This version of the tale is an 'interpretation'. The acting was above par and the historical representations were well stated. This was obviously not a 'big budget-special effects' production. This actually enhanced the quality of the movie.

This movie has nothing to do with Cyrano. Cyrano has a big nose and is chastised repeatedly for it. This movie has nothing to do with Cyrano.

I loved Cyrano. I read the play Cyrano de Bergerac in high school; I was so excited to see this version of it. I was curious to see how they tweaked the story for Peter Dinklage because originally Cyrano was known for his gigantic nose. I loved how they did it, and the theme of being worthy of love and worthy of life regardless of how you look was very strong for me. I also appreciated the depth added to Christian's character--he's more than just a big, beautiful dummy like I've seen in other iterations of Cyrano's story. Christian may not be eloquent, but he's brave, strong and a good man. There's friendship, betrayal, fear, war, romance, humor, music, violence, death, redemption, loss, and of course love--so many layers of it. It made me want to write love letters. SPOILERS: If you don't like romantic tragedies, then this is not for you. It may start out more like the feel-good romantic comedies/romantic musicals that many of us have seen and loved. However, there is a lot of death and pain and sorrow in this film. There are elements of history in it, like the French going to war, I believe with the English, but since no specific enemy was mentioned in the musical and the historical figure of Cyrano is possibly involved in multiple French wars, it's difficult to know. IN A NUTSHELL: Cyrano was lush, fun, romantic, tragic, beautifully acted, beautifully choreographed and the wonderful love triangle: Cyrano, Roxanne and Christian, made me cry multiple times. It may not be for everyone, but if you love musicals, please give this one a go! And even if you don't love musicals, give it a try, you may surprise yourself.

Loved how it detailed women's history and included such a diverse cast. The dancing, music, and poetry were phenomenal.

He attacks you at the ankles! I look down on this movie. We're supposed to buy that deformities are interchangeable? It's all about the nose! I guess the movie's okay but it's no big thing. Check it out if you must. You may have stepped on it already.

The character does not have to have a long nose. That is not the point. It is about how Cyrano is looked upon as a freak. I can't believe this is an issue for some people. The movie is an adaption. There are certainly other versions you can watch if the aforementioned hideous probiscus is what is you found all-important :)

This is passable but betrays the source material. The real Cyrano de Bergerac was a freak with a massive nose, not a midge. If they wanted to change things up they should've did a gender swap and cast Barbra Streisand in the title role.

The production numbers are solid and somewhat alleviate the tedium.

Really misses the point by failing to understand the root of Cyrano's malady.

While a handsome production, the writers obviously didn't familiarize themselves with the source material as Cyrano is supposed to have a humungous eyesore of a nose, and no attempt has been made to portray that onscreen.
