this one i found dissapointing, the trailers seem funny but they were the highlights for sure.
This movie was the perfect comedy. It was definitely the funniest movie I have seen this year. Every moment was a laugh your butt off moment. Steve Carell stars as the buffoon that Paul Rudd picks to come to dinner with him. Steve Carell was so funny. The perfect joke in this movie, which received a full applause from the audience, was when Steve Carell looked at a picture of Nelson Mandela and a famous artist and remarks "Cool! He knows Morgan Freeman!" I definitely recommend this movie to everyone, especially if you like comedy that is on the cheeky side, but not completely cheeky.
I did not know what to expect with this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised! It has been a while since a movie made me laugh out loud, and this one did, several times. It was refreshing to have a totally new story line that is not a rehash of something else. I watch a ton of movies and this one was definitely original. Carvell and Rudd deliver their lines in seasoned actor style with just the right pauses. I enjoyed the movie very much and would suggest if you want a really good laugh, you should head on down to the theatre!
Very funny!
I really enjoyed this movie and thought it was hilarious. I recommend anyone to see this movie if they want a good laugh.
Smart writing makes this movie well worth a look. The characters work well together and the movie flows along very nicely. Carell and Rudd make the best team and deliver their lines with comic genius. It is refreshing to see a movie with a completely new storyline that has not been rehashed over and over again. This movie will make you laugh out loud several times. The innuendos are great and you will not regret spending the time to see this great summer blockbuster.
Hilarious, esp. if you like Steve Carell!!!
Funniest movie i've ever seen.....
Absolutely hilarous, Paul Rudd and Steve Carell are a great team. I just couldn't stop laughing. If you need a laugh then this is a must see.
So good! Carell is incredible once again. So many good characters in this. Check it out!
Very funny... it's a good movie for what it offers... which is just easy-going funny. Solid laughs all throughout... and a surprisingly decent storyline.
awesomeness
Good but not great. It was funny in parts but the humour was awkward in others. Not bad, but could have been better.
A silly kind of movie where you can just sit back, relax and have a laugh.
This movie was hilarious
Hilarious and sweet at the same time
Overall this movie is pretty funny but didn't live up to its potential. Carell did a great acting job by playing true to the role. With a little bit of better scripting it probably could have become a great movie as it sometimes seemed to be on the verge of saying a lot more about life and perception than it really did.
Saw the movie on "Premire" night. Very funny movie, kept me entertained from beginning to end. Came out with a big smile on my face...
funny movie, something for everyone in it.
It is funny, thought it would be funnier though!
Had some funny scenes but I would wait for dvd release.
great movie, this movie makes me laugh, one of the most funniest movie and a movie that teach people don't judge other by their looks and action but looking deeper to their hearts and inner self.
Some good laughs but I hate movies where stupid people put normal people in jeopardy. Steve Carell and Paul Rudd and supporting cast are good but not enough laughs for me to recommend.
This movie was very predictable and overrated. I love Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell but it just wasn't that funny. A DVD rental if anything.
Absolutely amazing!!! I LOVE this movie. I can't wait to watch it again!!!
My stomach hurt from laughing so much....Adored this movie. If you don't get the humor...you're probably too young to go see it!
The best comedy this summer. Great acting and entertaining.
Very funny movie. Dumb humour, but that's the point, he's supposed to be an idiot.
Enjoyed thoroughly...laughed out loud!!
Pathetic. I enjoy humour and can laugh at most things but this didn't get a peep out of me. I found it annoying more than funny and totally stupid. I think I've had my fill of Steve Carell. It was painful to watch and I wondered at the mentality of those who actually found it funny. Ah well each to their own I guess.
Seems so random at the different points of this movie - to the point where things get so absurb that you are relieved as an audience member when the resolve comes along. Enjoyed it for the most part though.
The only schmucks are the people who paid to see this very, very stupid flik (yes, I'm a part of the small crowd). One or two laughs ... I would have left but I was hoping it would get better.
Excellent movie! People who say all the funny parts were in the trailer are crazy!
i found it not as funny as it ahd sounded because all of the comedic acts were in trailers, commercial etc. however there was some surprisingly funny parts that was not shown in the trailer... only two or three parts, but it's more like a soap with tim's character. So if you're in to that kind of a movie then go see it.
So much better than white the critics are saying! Carrel was hilarious and it was nonstop laughs once he joined it! I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to laugh!
very very funny all around
Very odd movie that's all I have to say. I love Steve Carell and Paul Rudd but I just found moments to be so annoying and very very odd. I am honestly sad to say it but very disappointed in this movie.
Absolutely hilarious! The reason why his wife left him had me in stitches... Carrell is brilliant and plays an excellent, big-hearted "schmuck" Highly recommended.
Such a funny movie, laughed throughout the whole movie!
Really funny a must see for you comedy fans
Hilarious
I guess everyone's tastes are different. I went because I like Steve Carell. But frankly even he couldn't save the movie, for me anyway. The only reason why I didn't leave half way is because I didn't want to bother other people. There are some funny spots though, to give it some credit...
Lots of laughs and very funny.
Funny entertaining movie.
The movie had its funny moments and I laughed out loud a few times but it was just an okay movie.
Lots of laughs, good wins over bad, guys finally get the girls after some tough predicaments, a definite pleasure to watch. I liked it.
Laugh out loud comedy! This movie had a lot of very funny lines in its script and the actors did a wonderful job in their delivery.
all of the funny scenes were in the trailer.
Great cast and some very funny bits, but sadly the pity factor created a major imbalance with the slapstick. I felt a bit too much empathy for the "schmucks" to be able to laugh at them. Very much a combination of Lars and the Real Girl mixed with I Love You Man, but not quite as brilliant as either. Wish there was more scenes with the Swedish couple.
Generally well done and funny without being insulting. The movie got stronger as it went with the dinner itself being the highlight. Overall the plot was the weak point but the characters were all well done and well acted (although almost every character is flawed the fact they all take themselves so seriously makes it all work). With a small amount of re-scripting this movie probably could have made a stronger comment on our society and how we view others.
