Terrible! 3 families walked out of the theatre and anyone that cares about their children should probably keep them away from this one. There were more adult jokes than children jokes. "Son of a ____ (silence)" just isn`t that funny in a kids movie. Its a basic rape and pillage of Mike Myers` stereotipical acting. DO NOT GO SEE IT.

The sets are amazing! The children were great ...and Mike was alright. Although it was based on the book, the writers could have used thier creative license a little more. I think it would be a little frightening to little children and older children may not understand all the adult humour and question it. The only truly annoying part was the constant "oh yeah" said by the cat ... catch phrase that I sincerely hope will not catch on. Other than that it was alright, but I`m glad I saw it at the "cheap theatre" and the tickets only cost me $4.25. I`d wait for it to come out on DVD personally.

I like it, it was a good movie I am a fan of Kellp Perston and I think she did realy good in that movie. She sems like a very good mother and a good actress at that.

The wonderful, timeless classic book was horribly mutilated in this disgusting piece of garbage. Rude, vulgur, and definitely not for young children. The "dirty hoe" joke, for example, was appalling. No wonder so many kids today are twisted. Mike Myers was very disappointing.

I think it needs to be taken for what it is, it is a movie directed towards the children, with some adult jokes thrown in for us to have a giggle. It was not bad, but my 3 children loved it and my oldest (10) wants to see it again.It was my 2 & 3 yr olds first movie and it held their attention for the whole time, so it can`t be that bad. 3 thumbs up for the kids enjoyment. It`s not easy to stretch a short childrens storey book into a 1 1/2 hour film.

Honestly, i expected a lot more. The movie was mildly amusing. It got QUITE annoying that "the cat in the hat" laughed at himself morefrequently than the audience. Some VERY stupid and immature jokes. Let`s not blame Mike Myers, the script could have been a bit better.

I thought it was hilarious. I`m 18 and, if I had kids, I defintely wouldn`t bring them to this movie! I was appalled at the "dirty hoe" comment!! I couldn`t believe it!

If I had children, I would not take them to see this. Sure they won`t understand a lot of the inappropriate "humour," but that`s just it. It`s supposed to be a kid`s movie, based on a timeless classic. Thus, they should understand the humour/jokes. Any movie that includes references to "dirty hoes" is not suitable for little kids or this 20 something. A big ole` waste of my $13.

i didnt like the movie and i wouldnt watch it again...mike meyers was not the right one for the part...he just didnt match the part of playing the cat in the hat and the plot was kinda stupid.

I thought it was pretty bad. I was really upset because I enjoyed the books and I feel the Cat in the Hat ruined the true story in the book. I would DEFINATLEY NOT recommend the Cat in the Hat to any one. Not for a younger audience.

this was a waste of time. i saw this movie with my best freind and we both thought it was terrible! i expected much more from Mike Myers.he is so funny in the Austin Powers movies but this one...yuck!i dont know how anybody could like it!it was more for adults and it was so boring! the only people i liked in the movie were Sean Hayes(the boss), thing 1 and thing 2! i wouldnt even waste money renting this movie!

My boyfriend and I went to see The cat in the hat on Sunday night. I was disgusted with the movie within the first 5 minutes. This is completly inappropriate for children. How could people find this funny ? After seeing him interviwed on Oprah with the cast it looked great but within 25 minutes I had our money back in my hands. What a shame. He was so rude and vulgur. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE. No wonder kids are the way they are today with this disgusting humour in the movies.

How the overall rating has gotten as high as 5 stars baffles me. It might be worth renting, but I feel as though I wasted my money at the boxoffice on this one. Mike Myers` character geared too many jokes toward adult humor, and I think it was the kids looking forward to being "wowed" by The Cat in The Hat, not mom or dad. Three children walked out of the theatre disappointed Sunday afternoon.

It was an okay movie. The costumes and sets were neat. The script was weak though. Not as good as I thought it would be. No one in the theater was really laughing. I think the only reason I really liked it was because of how much I like Mike Myers. If anyone else was in it, I think it would have sucked.

Decent movie if your an adult, you wont be bored while you pretend your there only to accompony your siblings or children. If you are a kid I am sure you will enjoy this movie and even the jokes that are aimed to make your parents laugh.

I think that a few of the parts was a bit childish but over all it was a pretty good movie.I really enjoyed the books when I was younger. it brought good memories back.

Cat and the hat was a REALLY cool movie. I loved the book when i was little but i didnt like mike myers character. I never thought of the cat to be quit like he was. The story was really diffrent but i really enjoyed it. This mpvie if great for kids!
