very good movie but i don`t think the acting is as good as the original poseidon adventure.overall the movie is excellent,especially the graphics.

The movie is just good to see. lots of graphical effects and good movie overall. I think had it been better actors, This movie would be a 5 stars. Worth to see though

This movie was what one would expect, great specials effects, especially related to the ship and the "rogue wave". However, not enough time was spent developing the characters. Could have shown them in the days before boarding and told a little bit more about their personal lives. Movie started, 5 minutes later ship sunk and rest of movie spent in dark grey places with fires and explosions. Fires by the way that would have eaten up the entire oxygen supply and all aboard would have suffocated in short order, but then what would we do for the other hour and a half.

I felt that the movie was being rushed a bit. Like we were sinking along with the boat but I enjoyed it tremendously, I love disaster movies.

This movie was an intense ride, althought I usually enjoy movies of this matter I did not feel the movie to much. I found it was rather graphic and gave an uncomfortable feel to it, just adding another paranoya to something that people usualy enjoy. It was quite predictable at a lot of points....

A good movie -- not great, but entertaining --- I decided to see this a second time and picked up on the nuances of the ensemble work -- better than I experienced the first time --- Definetly worth your while -

Go see it!! The special effects are spectacular. No, the dialogue is not always Hamletesque. But then again, dialogues between people who realize they`re about to drown, probably never are. The old 1971-version was nice at the time, but it`s nonsense to compare, as some people here do, the now oldfashioned sounding acting and rather tame effects, with this production.

This was not a good movie yes there were some great special effects but there was absolutely no story line and the dialogue between the actors was just plain pathetic.....

it was okay..nothing much..just a ship sinking..it was entertaning..thrilling..and suspensful..but i dint like it that much..like it wasnt the best movie ever..far far far from it..i recomened people see it..not in theatre though..cause youlle be wasting money..its an okay rental! 2\5

The orginal is much better. Just special affects in this movie. Thats it. The movie was over before it began.

meh. It was ok. I saw it with some friends. One of which was egging on the people to die, while me and my other friend were saying " oh my god!" and "eww" a lot. It was ok I guess. You actually see this person drown. That was really creepy. But it was an ok movie

I quite enjoyed the movie. There wasn’t anything new, or anything I expected to happen that didn`t happen in the other versions of the movie. It was very well done, some parts were waaayy over-exaggerated) about how, there was only one lifeboat, and how when the flares went in the air, they magically turned into helicopter lights.

This movie was a real nail-biter. It was awesome...both Josh Lucas and Kurt Russell do excellent jobs. Great visual effects!

Well, This movie was dumped with pure bad comments, so I went to see for myself... It`s not all that bad. the exciting scenes alone are worth watching. Maybe a rental, but its not that bad, ok?!

I thought this movie could`ve been much better but it still deliever what it advertise and that is suspense and drama. Which i liked, and i also liked the cool CGI scene`s. But i wish the movies was a little bit longer then it was because i was left with out character`s and stuff like that but oh well it was a fast paced movie, and i enjoyed so that`s why i give it a positive rating which is 8 out of 10.

I can`t believe people are comparing this movie to the Titanic. IT ISN`T EVEN SIMILAR AT ALL!! It is a totally different movie. I saw the original and I think that with all the new special effects this movie was very well done. I do agree however that the dialoge was poor. I would still recommend seeing it on the big screen for the great special effects!

I finally know why I didn`t open at numer 1. Wow talk about putting so little emphasis on the dialogue of a movie. Has to be the worst written script ever...the action was great but it might have been even more effective if THE ACTORS DIDN`T SPEAK!

If you liked titanic you should like this its the same thing but the boat is upside down and harder to get out. over all a movie to rent.

I thought it was very suspenseful. My heart was beating like crazy the entire time, i was afraid everyone in the theatre could hear it. The effects were not as good as i thought they would be, but still presentable. The only downside i thought was that you didn`t really get to know the characters in the beginning. It kinda just jumped to the action...Also, i was hoping there would be some kind of love story, and i didn`t get it....

This movie was actually good. it actually did keep you interested throughout. in my opinion, don`t base your thoughts on what people say, some people just hate disaster movies. Overall, this movie was awesome

I totally loved the movie! I was scared the entire time. Josh Lucas was great in it. The characters could have been more developed but it was still well done.

I sure wish I had read some of the comments before spending $11.00 to see this. Very good effects, but the acting was poor at best. Wait to rent. Disappointing effort from Wolgang Peterson who normally does a great job.

Amazing movie! The action was great, the special effects were good, and sure, the story line was lacking, but it kept me and my boyfriend on our seats. Definately a good thriller. If you want something not requiring a lot of thinking, and just a ton of action scenes, go see this. Well worth the money.

"POSEIDON" is a good movie, deserve to be watched, gives you an idea on how you can lose everything and you will need everything no matter how strong you are. you might be in need someday to things you have taken in the oast for garented such as Oxygen. This movie shows you that working in a team is the best way to survive. It tells you that you have to take steps , make a move to survive, do something to help yourself survive, not staying doing nothing other than waiting for help. This movie shows you how love can be translated and how it can be understood. loves here meant sacrifize, endanger yourself to help others because your life mig
