  • absolutely the worst movie ever! where did they find an indian girl with such a bad indian accent? couldn't they find an actor to play that part? if it wasn't so pathetic it would be funny. YUCK!!!
  • What is embarrassing is that Mr. Glaser doesn't have the class and professionalism to take the high road and feels he has to criticize others instead of taking a closer look at his own behavior and skills, which, like all those involved in the production, have a long way to go.
  • In defense of Mr. Dhillon, I also worked on Sweet Amerika in a key position. Yes, the production was plauged with problems most due to an overly ambitious script backed by a tiny budget. I was frustrated on many occasions by the filmmaking process, but that is normal. Making ANY film is an incredible challenge, never mind a first feature with no budget. If the film didn't turn out to everyone's liking, it is not surprising; however, there were many talented people involved who, because of this film, got a little more experience to put under their belts and experienced what is the NORM in Hollywood--that is, that EVERY production is a war, filled with ups and downs, successes and failures.
  • I'm the director/producer of Sweet Amerika and I'm responding to the review posted by our DP Oliver Glaser on this site about the quality of the film. First of all - we did nothing to the footage shot was Glaser other than blow it up to 35 from the HD master. All framing, out of focus stuff and other photography mistakes are all the work of the DP and absolutely nothing has been altered. Oliver is just trying to cover his behind but everyone knows that he is an average DP and nothing more. He insisted on shooting everything hand held which works some of the time but not all the time. We had many fights on the set but that's the way it is when you work with a DP like Oliver. Anyway - I don't
  • As embarrassing as it is to admit... I shot this movie! But what you see on screen is not what was shot. The "Producer/Director" Cropped and digitally zoomed in the original widescreen image, which resulted in bad framing, cut off heads, excessive grain etc, and vommitous camera movements. They also often used non circled takes (the circled takes are the best for camera... ie. IN FOCUS!!!) which led to many very out of focus shots. The biggest problem was the exposure level. Because the film was transfered to HDCAM for editing and DVD it was colour balanced accordingly. The film was not meant to be blown up for that master tape to 35mm (as was done) without another colour correction session w
