I was a bit worried because people were saying negative comments about this movie. ALSO... The "Lord of the rings" trilogy is a very difficult act to follow. I went into the theatre with lower expectations because of this. I have NO IDEA what the detractors are even talking about! I was SUPER HAPPY the arm chair critics were wrong. It was an AMAZING film. If you think this movie is bad or too long or not enough action... Sorry to be blunt, but you are a moron. This movie fit right in with the entire series. If you liked LOTR, I promise you, you will like "The Hobbit" too. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!

This movie was absolutely wonderful! I'd heard it was not so great so I didn't have very high expectations. This film more than exceeded them. Brilliant scenery shots, remarkable special effects, and a very good choice in actors. I was scared I would lose focus throughout the movie with dialogue, but it kept you there the whole time. It didn't feel nearly as long as it was. A must-see!

Was ok a bit long to build up the characters but maybe that's because I read the book and new who they where. a little more humer in this film than the fiers three but then again we are talking about Dwarves.all in all a must see 4out of 5 film

One word "Masterpiece". Before i went to see this movie,i was aware of all the negative comments that was said about this movie, things like, too long,48 frames per second makes it look like a video game, boring, slowpaced etc...and i half to be honest i was afraid to be disappointed. But it was the complete opposite.I enjoyed every single minute of it! This is a must see!!

not much of either Tolkien fiction nor LOTR/Hobbit movie series fan. but do enjoy fantasy genres. while digital landscape visuals were stunning/breathtaking, the story/plotline was too slowpaced, and too many 'little mini-tales' to fill in. and it took forever to ramp up to what might be thought of as a proper climax, only to find out it was the end of the movie. a very un-epic. clearly a sequel that follows would be climatic (or not?), but should've been in this movie, but was missing; not a movie that stands alone at all. very disappointing. and too stretched out. the acting was fine. too bad no girls in the story but the single elfin queen who was somewhat androgynous with long hair. not

3D not impressive at all. Movie rather boring until it ramps up at the halfway mark. Imax presentation not as good as Skyfall.

I don't know why people are rating this so poorly. Loved seeing McKellen as Gandalf again, along with all the other LOTR actors who returned. The movie looks fantastic and I thought Morgan Freeman was fine.

Epic movie if there ever was one. One of the issues if anyone saw the LOTR movies, Bilbo took the ring when he was older. In this one he got it way younger? Not consistant but otherwise visually wow.

Great flick! Loved Martin Freeman as Bilbo!

different but martain freeman's comedic edge and great story line made the movie
