  • Excellent revision of the movie made in the 1950s of Graham Greene`s novel and true account of CIA intervension and terrorism in Vietnam during the US led war. This movie correctly portrays the characters in Greene`s novel whereas the 1950s movie flips the characters around and thereby makes it seem as the terrorists are the North Vietnamese. It is generally held by many scholars that the 1950s movie was made by a CIA operative to prop up popularity for the war. The only complaint about this movie is that it should have had a bit more character and background historical development. Otherwise, excellent and applicable to today`s events.
  • worst movie brendan fraser has ever made. he was great in it but the story line was crap. next time the writers should atleast try
  • Good acting all around, but too short (90 min.). Couldn`t give 5 stars because the voice track overlay didn`t match lip movement.
  • I loved The Quiet American. Voices whispered by elderly ladies as I left the theater ... "We should never have been over there..." I read that the story is based on fact. (I recently read a speech by M. L. King where he described the popularity of Ho Chi Minh, an elected leader, although his group was made up of some communists.) We need to know our true history if we are to prevent a bloody future.
  • I think it`s one of the most amazing films of this year at least...Michael Caine is absolutely of the best performances of his career
