What a dissipointment, this was not horror movie like it was billed to be.

Critics were hard on this unique film because it was not solid horror as the directors previous attempts had been. It was very orignal and well written with supperb acting. B plus.

I would have to say that this movie was bad. i was expecting a scary movie but was very disappointed. i expected more from the director of signs and the sixth sense

It was amzaing, espically the first half with Joaquin Phoenix - he enough of a reason to love it even if you didnt actually like the story

I think people go to this movie expecting a scary one, and find out its not, so they think it sucks... but really its actually a pretty good movie... great music, great picture, great acting, great story, overall great movie... not worth 10 bucks.... but then again what movie is?... but, i still like the 6th sense better

OUTSTANDING! It was sometimes: heartbreaking, scary, and emotional. This film captures the human core of "fear". It wasn`t about monsters or ghosts, it was about "survival." The village is no ordinary film, it was refreshing.

Possibly the greatest movie I`ve ever seen. Well written, well directed, well produced. Absolutley amazing. The people that hate it, just don`t get it. They are looking for million dollar special effects garbage. Go see Catwoman, and leave the good movies to the people that can appreciate them.

amazing watch, i was really expecting nothing out of it as read by some of the reviews but I just started liking the movie right from beginning and was waiting when some stupidity will happen but that didnt happen till the end.. It was a very well made romantic, thriller. Just loved it. A pure paisa-vasool(worth it) of your time and money

I think the movie was amazing. It had such an melancholic undertone, in every scene you could catch a certain sadness. and if you`ve watched it more than one time you`ll see the little things. they`re making the movie - like the well casted supporting actors and actresses from the Elders. And the wonderful composing of pictures. Shymalana is a genius!

This is, to me, the best movie of the year so far. If you take the time to understand even remotely what the film is trying to project, you will never forget it. Return to innocence, protection of a way of life, true love, trust, it`s all there, and knowing the ending halfway through does not change the movie`s breath-taking story. It is a rare equation when Great Plot + Great Acting + Great Cinematography + Great Soundtrack come together so well. A very poignant movie that you have to watch more than once to begin to grasp!

I think the people that were so vehement in their expression of dissapointment perhaps aren`t movie lovers. Rather they are unfulfilled in their own lives and imaginations and require simplistic, shock horror entertainment to qualify as a `good movie`. I thought the film was quite amazing, albeit with some flaws. A movie doesn`t necessarily have to be perfect to be good, and I found The Village to be beautiful, unsettling, frightening and surprising. A fascinating little movie.

By far..the worst movie I have sen in my life. Slower than anything you will ever see. Easy to guess what is going to happen. Very Disappointing.

Very, very, very impressed. Was reading negative comments from others - my gosh people are so shallow. Suddenly it`s not a good movie just because they weren`t scared - don`t you guys look at plot, cinematography, etc? Admittedly I guessed the ending, but it didn`t matter coz the twist made it so much more interesting. So many questions left unanswered - keeps me thinking! Loved it, 5 stars. Will definitely watch it again.

I have no idea how this movie got such high ratings. I personally thought it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. All of the exciting parts of the movie can be seen in the previews, and the rest is just boring. Whats even more confusing is how great everyone preaches about this movie, yet when I was standing outside of the theater at the end of the show, 95% of the people walking out said they were dissapointed. This movie just plain sucked

Worst Movie ever!!! I never thought I would see a movie worse than "The Punisher" but this takes the cake. Slow boring acting and it wasn`t even scary. I wanted to walk out but I was with a bunch of friends. Luckily I only paid just over 5.00 for it at a cheap theatre.

Im sooooo Dissapointed!! I went into the movie expecting to be scared. It was Pure bore! The attempt at making it a love story was all wrong. It seemed like it was just put together just for the sake of having another movie out. Its one of the worst movies i have ever seen! Someone should get fired for all the false advertisments. I give it 8 fingers and 2 thumbs down.

Really enjoyed The Village.. re the ending I think they are setting it up for a sequel... great story and loved the twist ..worth seeing.. this isn`t an academy award movie but its still worth seeing and maybe pondering afterwards...

It was the worst movie,I`ve seen in my life.....slow to the point,where I didn`t care how it ends....it fails to build any kind of tension or suspense due to its lack of progress of the plot....the ending had more elements of a teenage comedy than a horror movie....i`d like to remember this movie as the one "I do not speak of".....
