Popcorn is terrible!

October 05, 2015

Ever since cineplex took over the popcorn is terrible. This past weekend will be the last I buy from the concession stand. I must have put on 2 cups of extra butter and it was still flavorless and cold. the seating could use updating too, but I'd rather the good popcorn be brought back, especially since its $10 a bag. I'll probably just watch at home now.

In bad need of updating

September 25, 2015

This theatre has needed renovations for over a decade. Take your wife to the movie for $30 and what do you get for quality? Ticket printing machines that either are down half the time or freeze while printing your tickets. The kids work the concessions are usually friendly enough but concession prices are ludicrous but you don't go to the movies for cheap popcorn. The sound quality is terrible, saw a movie last night and the speakers on the left had side had static the whole time. The first seat I sat in had the armrest cover missing, the second seat had a broken hinge so it sat lower on one side on the other. The third seat was tolerable but this just shows that this poor movie theatre hasn't had a dime spent on renovations to improve the customer experience for decades. I'd gladly pay 30 bucks if every theatre had stadium style seating and updated more comfortable chairs. But then again it's the only theatre in Fredericton so it's not like we have a lot of choice.

Shit Ass Theatre Part Two

September 05, 2015

Why does this theatre not bring in any of the film festival movies? is it because they think they are too good for these movies? No, the truth is they think they know what they are doing but they don't. They only bring in the mainstream movies that sit in the theatres, empty, for months and expect guests to continue to come to the theatre. The theatre itself is mangy-looking and the sound system sounds like it is ready to explode. They have nothing new and don't seem to care much about the theatre itself and it doesn't look like they are planning on a new theatre or any ideas. They play movies on four screens when two of these theatres sit half empty while the other two theatres are full. Whose idea is this? Its pretty stupid. Because of this, we can't have films like Birdman, Selma or Amy. Not that they would bring them in anyways. The Bathrooms look like hell and are broken from the doors to the soap despencers. How many times do you go in there and the far end toilet is clogged? Staff clearly don't do there job here and leave these bathrooms a pit. The biggest complaint is that no one at this theatre has a film knowledge and could care less about the movies. The theatre is meant for people who like the movies but it seems like they will take anyone. This theatre is a pit and they need to stop lying to us that a new one is coming. They will never bring in the movies that the film festivals play because there are too many stupid kids that have ten dollars and not enough seniors who will buy popcorn. These are terrible business practices.

horrible seating

August 27, 2015

Seating is very outdated, stadium seating should be available for all showings, pretty sad for a capital city. My husband and I would go more often if the seats were more comfortable.

Horrible outdated Seats

August 18, 2015

I used to go to a lot of movies back in the day but no as much as I used too. The seats in that theatre are horrible and you can not even get comfortable. Also the theatre is not clean. The concession area seems run down and dirty as well. When my wife and I go to Moncton or Dieppe the movie theatres there are amazing. Clean updated and has the theatre seats. So unless it's a great movie that I cant go without seeing, I will wait for it to come out on TV and pay to watch it on tv in my own living room. At least I will be more comfortable

Shit ASS Theatre

July 26, 2015

Most of the staff are incompetent but some try. Too many high school nerds and not enough people who have a knowledge of film history. Every time I go to this dingy theatre, I leave with a bad experience. The sound is way too loud and the chairs looking like they were torn apart by wild animals. The floors are so sticky it feels like an adult film was displayed on screen. Worst of all, too many mainstream movies: Example - The Avengers 2 on FOUR screens and last Christmas we had to fight for "The Imitation Game." We never got Selma, Birdman or Inherent Vice. There is no excuse especially since Birdman won BEST PICTURE. This theatre always says "upgrades are coming," this is a crock. I wish they would give us some solid information but it clearly seems like they don't care about this theatre anymore and would rather see it burn to the ground. Empire was a dream and Cineplex needs to fix this theatre before something exploded. Angry Moviegoer.

Modernize

June 24, 2015

This theater is way overdue for some major renovation. In the age of the HD home theater, it's really hard to justify the cost of going out to the movies for such a second-rate experience. The screens, seats, and sound are underwhelming and the viewing angle leaves me with a sore neck the next day.

We Need an Updated Theatre !!

June 13, 2015

Cineplex needs to invest money to build a new theatre in the area. The one at the regent mall is outdated. Only one theatre in the building is some what updated... even that is becoming outdated fast compared to the new one in Moncton. I'm a big movie goer and not the only one in the area. Everyone would be pleased to go and enjoy a better experience then the one we're getting. Feels like when I was 5 yrs old again with the style of seating and screens this theatre has. Let's go Cineplex !!! Shouldn't have to drive an hour and half or more to enjoy a movie.

time to make changes

June 01, 2015

This isn't all Cineplex's fault they took over a worn-out theater ...but it is time to make some changes. In Saint John you pick your seats so no over selling and makes it easier for groups to sit together . What is up with the no refill on large pop and popcorn really for what little bit they both cost compared to what you charge...seriously. I know this is about your only source of revenue since almost all the ticket price go back to the movie maker but instead of trying to make a lot off each customer make a bit off each one. The days off no other choices is gone. Netflix and such are your biggest competition and you have to enhance the experience in order to build and maintain your clientele. It is all about the experience now and looking at your reviews you are failing in that department. It all isn't bad but you have to start making changes or it will be Cinegone
