I thought it was very good. I didn't know much about the movie going into it. I thought it was a great story. Very captivating.

I was very dissappointed with this remake. No one can do a John Wayne movie the way he did. I was looking forward to seeing this one but it really fell short of the Master. There was no magic that I feel when the Duke is on screen. Totally unimpressed.

It was a great experience from the opening shot to the end credits. The girl character was impressive beyond belief and the other two male characters were also expertly portrayed. I liked that it kept to the original story.

I have seen the original and was very surprised to see that this movie really was good. Excellent casting for the roles. A definate must see

I loved this interpretation as much as the original. It is not often I will say this about a remake. The casting was spot on and the Coen brothers did thier usual magic.

Have been a big fan of Jeff Bridge's for many years and he definitely worked his usual magic but young Hailee Steinfeld was brilliant in this!! Looking forward to seeing her onscreen again - would be especially fab if the Coen Brothers used her again! Kareen

My husband requested this one so I tagged along thinking it's a night out together. Was I surprised, I loved it. I have not seen the original, but would like to now. The acting was fantastic especially the young girl. Bridges and Damon went beyond what I was expecting of them, I was disappointed that Brolin was in it so little. Definately recommend this one, even for the women.

The real star was Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross. An Oscar worthy performance. Jeff Bridges and Damon were superb. I am hoping to catch the original somehow.

Basically the same as the original. but more gritty and updated. Thoroughly enjoyable even for non-western fans. Some great dialogue.

I love westerns but this one was very disappointing. Slow-moving. At one point my eyes started closing. The trailer had me thoroughly fooled. Noticed when the girl exited the river with her horse, she was completely dry. Acting by all was good. But overall I thought it was a waste of time.

loved the fact it was between deadwood, ( really grungy)and the old dusters where after 2 months in the bush , they were still clean. The young girl was awesome , the ending a little shlockey too me , but all in all , an excellent film..

The remake was very well done. Jeff Bridges played Rooster Cogburn perfectly. Matt Damon was a bit weak but it was still a great movie.

I absolutely loved this movie. Great acting. There was nothing vulgar,no bad language or gratutious sex,you could take your parents and your kids to see this great movie.Well done.

Excellent. Best western I've seen in a very long time. I always wondered who could ever play John Wayne because he was one of a kind. But Jeff Bridges did an amazing job!!

This was a very authentic western. It wasn't about twirling guns around or a bunch of good guys riding off into the sunset. The costumes, the towns, and most of all the dialogue felt very authentic for the time period. I would have preferred a little more action but it was still well done. There are some really good convincing performances here. I love westerns because they are so simple yet effective. True Grit definitely fits into that category.

Slow start to the movie, but when it gets going it`s pretty awesome. Just as good as the original movie, i would recommend this movie to everyone.

Fantastic re-telling of the original movie. It's a different film from the first one. I would say they are both equally good, adn stand alone as they are very different. Also, the performances by all the actors in this film are top-nothced. I expect this flick to get plenty of oscar nominations.

I loved this movie. Great adaptation. Hailie was great in it and so was Jeff Bridges - maybe another oscar for Jeff - Matt Damon was also great in this movie as well.
