Cineplex Cinemas North Edmonton and VIP

Even though it’s miles away from two other Edmonton-area behemoths, this 14-screen multiplex—also known as Cinetropolis— is like a cleaner, smaller, younger sister to the Scotiabank Edmonton and South Edmonton Commons cinemas. The theatre, which opened on the same weekend as the original Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003, is just as viable a moviegoing option, though, with a new UltraAVX screen, an auditorium equipped with D-BOX seats, surround sound and many fast food options, such as Outtakes and Yogen Fruz. The North Edmonton cinemas recently hosted a special community day on Saturday, June 11, 2011, where proceeds from concessons items were donated to the Canadian Red Cross to support the relief effort in Slave Lake, AB.
