Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver

Voted the best movie theatre and featuring the best theatre concessions by local lifestyle magazine Georgia Straight, this nine-screen multiplex in the heart of downtown Vancouver opened in 2005 as the Paramount. Members from the band U2 were invited to a sneak preview while playing in town and raved about the theatre, setting it up for massive levels of success that has never gone away, despite the rise of several entertainment complexes and plenty of theatres nearby. The three-story theatre, which can seat more than 2,100 patrons at once, houses a food court with the typical Cineplex food court options (Pizza Pizza, TCBY, Burger King) on its second level and an exotic waterfall inside the lobby.
