Unlike his character in Breakaway, Vinay Virmani had the full support of his father when it came to making his screenplay a reality. Breakaway, co-written by Virmani, premieres at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and the actor tells Ola Sturik of Tribute that there was no time for nerves in his big Hollywood debut.

Great movie - saw it twice! Really makes me understand the culture a lot better! Seikh children really are under a whole lot of pressure from their elders, more than most canadians realize. Excellent film.
