Adil Hussain & Mehdi Nebbou Interview - English Vinglish

Adil Hussain and Mehdi Nebbou play rivals of sorts in the film English Vinglish but when they came to talk to Tribute.ca, they were all smiles. The duo talked about how each of their roles fit into the story, which follows a traditional Indian woman (Sridevi) in New York who takes it upon herself to enroll in English classes—Hussain plays the belittling husband while Nebbou plays one of the woman’s classmates.

Hussain, who will be appearing in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Life of Pi, also shares some anecdotes from the Pi set and even enlists Nebbou for a hilarious improv sketch imitating one of his co-stars.

Mehdi-so lively and so animated.I wish someone will think of casting him in a movie full of laughs. Here is a young man who is very comfortable with the world around him and who is so ready to laugh.I liked his asking who Sridevi should have gone with-'him or me?' Mehdi we haven't seen enough of you.All the best!

I would really love to watch a sequel of EV with Mehdi paired opposite Sridevi. Unfortunately, for this to happen, as Mehdi said Adil would have to be shown dead. But definitely, it would be just fantastic to see more of Mehdi and Sridevi together as couple.

They're both super good looking. I fell for Mehdi in this film completely and he seems lovely in real life. And he's gorgeous too. Even Adil can't keep his hands off him! (Just kidding!) But they seem to be pretty friendly. Adil's got a great baritone voice like Mehdi says. I once saw him at a film festival and he does have a certain presence.

The fact that you feel that Shashi was better off with Mehdi's character testifies that Adil did his part well. One of the most balanced and well- meaning movies I have ever watched!

Mehdi, he put his heart and soul into the movie. I totally believed that his heart was broken by Shashi,
he just loved her, it was in his eyes, his expression. Great actor, I love him.
    Gifted guy,
