The Edge of Seventeen brings TIFF 2016 to a close

Woody Harrelson on the TIFF red carpet

The red carpets are now rolled up and tucked away as the premiere events at the 41st edition of TIFF have wrapped.

The Edge of Seventeen, a coming-of-age story about a teen whose life is turned on its head when her older brother begins dating her best friend, screened on Saturday night at Roy Thomson Hall as the festival's closing film.

Before the movie hit screens, its stars walked the red carpet and gave TIFF fans one more spectacle to behold.

Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld plays the central character in the film and chatted with reporters at the event about her co-star Woody Harrelson, who portrays her history teacher. Wearing a vividly colored crisscross patterned gown, the 19-year-old said, "He was amazing. A mentor in real life, to be honest. He really is awesome... It's amazing to watch him and his process and also how he is with other people. There's so much to learn from working with somebody like him."

Woody, an Oscar nominee in his own right, also attended the event. He donned a blue top and dress jacket with black drawstring trousers and trainers.

Additionally, director Kelly Fremon Craig and actors Blake Jenner, Hayden Szeto and Haley Lu Richardson were on hand to smile for cameras and support their film. Actress Bailee Madison, who doesn't appear in the movie, was present as well.

The Edge of Seventeen co-stars Kyra Sedgwick and makes its way into theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
