Jake Gyllenhaal looked dapper in a dark suit and green tie on the red carpet at Roy Thomson Hall last night (Sept. 8, 2017) for the world premiere of his new movie, Stronger.
The movie takes place before, during and after the bombing at the 2013 Boston Marathon, which took the life of a young boy and injured several others.
Boston native Jeff Bauman, who was at the finish line to cheer on his girlfriend Erin Hurley, was caught in the blast and lost his legs. He later identified one of the bombers for police.
Jeff (played in the movie by Jake Gyllenhaal), was also on hand at TIFF to walk the red carpet, wearing a stunning blue jacket, matching tie and khaki shorts. The movie is based on his book, Stronger, about his road to recovery following the bombing.
Tatiana Maslany, who plays Erin Hurley in the film, was elegant in a dark red and black tulle dress.
British actress Miranda Richardson, who gives a fantastic performance as Jeff's alcoholic mother, also walked the red carpet and happily greeted fans.
