The trailer for A Hidden Life begins with couple Franz Jägerstätter (August Diehl) and Fani (Valerie Pachner) reminiscing on the simpler days of their lives – when they first met, their first child, and raising their family. Since the start of WWII and the rise of Adolf Hitler, Franz struggles to show loyalty to his country and their leader. In the trailer he faces arrest, authoritarian brutality and ultimately the threat of execution, all in the name of fighting for what he believes is right, to restore the faith in humanity.
