In the official Detour trailer, we see a shirtless young man pop a car's trunk, a woman twirl around a stripper pole, and two men have a chat in a bar.
As the trailer continues, it becomes apparent that the young man, named Harper (Tye Sheridan), is suspicious of his father (Stephen Moyer). When Harper meets grifter Johnny (Emory Cohen) and the stripper from the trailer's opening, Cherry (Bel Powley), his personality splits. We're given a look at the life he'd lead if he stays home with his shady father and the one he'd have if he embraces a more reckless, criminal side of himself and hits the road with Johnny and Cherry. Violence, guns, blood and quick, intense sequences drive the end of the trailer.
