When Nick (Damon Wayans Jr.) joins an online dating site that guarantees love, he goes on hundreds of dates but doesn't find that special someone, so he decides to sue for false advertising. He hires lawyer Susan Whitaker (Rachael Leigh Cook), who has had very little dating experience, but who has character, principles and a sense of common decency. As they spend time together, they slowly begin to develop feelings for each other.
