In this trailer for Mary Queen of Scots, Mary (Saoirse Ronan) looks across the water and remarks, "England does not look so different from Scotland." Queen Elizabeth I (Margot Robbie) is told that her cousin Mary has returned to take up her throne in Scotland. Mary sends Elizabeth a letter saying that she hopes they will be able to rule side by side in harmony. Elizabeth reponds affirmatively and graciously. However, when Mary has a child with her new husband, she announces that the child is an heir to Scotland... and to England. This does not sit well with Elizabeth and the English. Mary begs Elizabeth not to play into the hands of the men, telling her they are hoping to instill hatred between the two cousins. Elizabeth doesn't take kindly to Mary's words and a battle between Scotland and England begins.
