Set on the beautiful coast of Australia, the stunning premiere trailer for The Light Between Oceans has new lovers Tom (Michael Fassbender) and Isabel (Alicia Vikander) writing passionate love letters to each other. These letters carry them through every intoxicating stage - from longing, to infatuation, marriage, and, finally, deep, real love.

However, the next stage, parenthood, is not as blissful and poetic. The couple suffer a miscarriage, devastating their idyllic life. While in the painful throes of the loss of their child, they find a miracle - a baby abandoned on the shore near their home. After much hesitation, they eventually adopt the child as their own and once again find the happiness they thought was long gone. But that happiness is fleeting as they meet the woman they suspect may be the real mother of their child.
