In Yorkshire, England, a former police detective questions whether he could have done more at the time when a serial killer was actively killing women for five years. When the first body was found, it was considered a one-off, and because she was deemed to be a prostitute, the police told the public they were safe. However, when more women's bodies were found, and they were not prostitutes, people began to take notice, especially when the injuries to the bodies were similar to the murders committed by Jack the Ripper in Victorian London. Every woman was at risk and people were getting angry that the police had no leads. They began to despair that the killer would never be caught.
