The second trailer for Mission: Impossible – Fallout opens on Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) transporting Solomon Lane, who was captured in the last movie, Rogue Nation. Lane tells Hunt there cannot be peace without suffering and the blood will be on his hands. We see shots of explosions, barbed wire dripping blood, and news of a nuclear attack. Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin) warns Hunt of an assassin (Henry Cavill) who is tasked with killing him if he goes rogue. As Hunt begins questioning his allegiance to IMF, he must decide who he can trust and who might now be a threat to his own life.
