Two silverback gorillas are playing in the jungle. Soon after, the baby gorilla, named Ivan (voiced by Sam Rockwell), is now living in the suburbs, enjoying life with a family of humans. The family uses Ivan as a circus act alongside several other circus animals. While locked up after the show, Ivan meets a baby elephant who is curious about Ivan's past life. While the two express their hopes of escaping the circus, Ivan now must decide whether his freedom is worth leaving his human family behind.
