Anna Fox (Amy Adams) is agoraphobic, which means she's afraid to go outside. Anna makes friends with her neighbor Jane Russell, who visits her in the apartment. One night, Anna hears Jane's screams from outside her window, and witnesses her being stabbed. However, the N.Y.P.D. don't believe her claims, as they find out that Jane's husband and his family are safe, and that his wife Jane is alive, but she's also a completely different person from whom Anna was meeting with. Determined that the woman she met was not a hallucination, Anna spies on her neighbors, only to discover an even scarier truth.
