Henry Cavill, 27, has been cast as the man of steel in the new Superman movie, to be directed by Zack Snyder. Snyder released a statement announcing the news: “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros. and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.” Cavil has an impressive list of credits. He’s been playing the regular role of Charles Brandon in the TV series The Tudors for the past three years and on the big screen, he can be seen in starring roles in upcoming films such as Immortals, opposite Mickey Rourke and John Hurt, and The Cold Light of Day, alongside Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver.
