Five Nights at Freddy’s takes over weekend box office

The new horror movie Five Nights at Freddy’s, which debuted last Friday, shot to the top of the weekend box office, displacing Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour as champion. Find out which other movies made the top five.

Five Nights at Freddy’s starring Josh Hutcherson took over the top spot at the weekend box office, with a haul of $78 million.

After two weeks as the box office champion, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour dropped a spot to second, earning an additional $14.7 million for a three-week total of $149.3 mllion.

Killers of the Flower Moon starring Leonardo Di Caprio dropped from second to third this weekend, taking in an extra $9 million for a two-week total of $40.7 million.

Debuting in fourth place was the documentary After Death, which earned $5 million.

Rounding out the top five was The Exorcist: Believer, which took in an additional $3.1 million for a four-week total of $59.4 million.
