Hugh Jackman wants to be James Bond

In an interview with The Sun, actor Hugh Jackman took a moment to talk about his buddy Daniel Craig and how he regrets passing up the opportunity to claim Craig’s coveted role as James Bond number six. Back in 2006, at the time of Craig’s first appearance as 007 in Martin Campbell‘s Casino Royale, Jackman was far too busy playing the clawed mutant Wolverine in X-Men: The Last Stand. Looking back, Jackman notes that he felt “at the time it was wrong for me, but when I saw Daniel in the movie I thought maybe I should have been more interested.” However, Jackman, who stars in one of this holiday season’s biggest blockbusters, Les Misérables, doesn’t take the loss too seriously, joking that the “good thing about Daniel is he’s, what, 62 now, isn’t he?” and adds, “I just keep telling him ‘I’m ready, whenever you want to let him go, I’m ready.’” Jackman and Craig are both 44. ~Brandon Bastaldo
