Jane Fonda thinks older women are feisty

Jane Fonda thinks older women are ”very feisty.”

The 77-year-old actress – who has teamed up with her Nine to Five co-star Lily Tomlin, 75, for the new Netflix series, Grace and Frankie – wants to prove you can still have fun after a certain age.

She told People magazine: ”I’ve wanted to do a television serious about older women for a long time. There is a stereotype of what an older woman is, but older women become very feisty and fun and brace, and I wanted to explore that.”

The iconic star was required to pee on a chair with a picture of Ryan Gosling’s face in one scene and admits she isn’t sure how he feels about the idea.

She said: ”I’ve been waiting for him to get in touch, because I know Ryan, but I never heard from him.”

Asked if she tried any hallucinogens as research for another scene in which her character does peyote, she joked: ”We had to so that we would know what to do, like needing to yawn all of the time.”

Jane previously admitted she smokes marijuana ”every now and then,” but claimed it clouded her judgment.

She said: ”I cannot see a movie on pot. The number of movies I’ve seen thinking, ‘This is probably the best I have ever seen,’ and then I’ll see it again sober and think, ‘What was I thinking?’ ”
