Christopher Nolan, who directed Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Inception, has confirmed that the young actor will play a villain in The Dark Knight Rises. Gordon-Levitt, who resembles Heath Ledger (The Joker in The Dark Knight), will play Alberto Falcone, the son of Mafia chieftain Carmine Falcone, the character played by Tom Wilkinson in Batman Begins. Alberto Falcone, aka the Holiday Killer, fits with Nolan’s preference for “realistic” villains, as opposed to cartoonish ones. The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to be released July 20, 2012.
