Mean Girls retains hold at No. 1 at weekend box office

None of the new movies released last Friday made their way into the top five at the weekend box office.

Mean Girls starring Angourie Rice as Cady Heron (the role Lindsay Lohan originated), held onto the top spot at the weekend box office with additional earnings of $11.7 million for a two-week total of $50 million. Click here to read our review.

The Beekeeper starring Jason Statham held onto second place, taking in an extra $8.5 million  for a two-week total of $31.1 million.

Wonka starring Timothée Chalamet stayed in third place this weekend, earning an additional $6.4 million for a six-week total of $187.2 million. Click here to read our review.

Anyone But You starring Sydney Sweeney remained in fourth, with an extra $5.4 million for a five-week total of $64.2 million.

Rounding out the top five was the animated film Migration, which earned another $5.3 million for a five-week total of $94.7 million.
