People were seeing double as wax figures of the stars joined them on the crowded red carpet.

Hundreds of screaming fans lined the event and also welcomed newcomers Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), James Spader (Ultron) and Paul Bettany (Vision).

Elizabeth Olsen worked alongside a dance instructor to prepare for her role as Scarlet Witch. The actress told The Hollywood Reporter she liked her character’s “weakness of being overwhelmed and not quite understanding how to control everything that she has. No one taught her how to use her powers, so her weakness in the comics make her a really interesting characters to me.”

The cast and director celebrated the premiere at Ohm nightclub in Hollywood after the screening. This is director Joss Whedon’s last Marvel film, at least for the time being, as the next film will be directed by the Russo brothers.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is sure to be action packed as the Avengers have to come together to defeat bad guy, Ultron, who wants to kill the human race. The movie debuts at theatres in North America on May 1, 2015.
