The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 DVD Review

Although the Twilight Saga came to an end in theaters last year, we can look forward to owning it on Blu-Ray/DVD and completing the full set. The lead actors—including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner—have reprised their roles for one last adventure.

The familiar melody starts the movie in a bittersweet way. Sad to see it end, but equally as exciting to see the second part of the final book come to life as Bella is finally turned into a vampire and meets her newborn baby—half human, half vampire—whom Jacob has already imprinted on. In an effort to convince the Volturi that Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee is in fact not fully immortal, they gather their vampire friends. Then, in an epic finale—extremely altered from the novel version of Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer—a grand battle takes place in the well-known field.

The unforgettable scenery and songs that were reminiscent to those of the previous movies were perfectly chosen to bring out the best parts of the story. In a beautiful end to a blockbuster series, the actors and actresses portrayed our favorite cold-blooded vampires and warm-hearted wolves to the greatest of their abilities, leaving us wanting more from the star-studded cast and lovable tale.

Twilight first came to theaters in 2008 and now that the saga is over, Twihards can rest assured (or stay up all night like the vampires) that the four-year adventure was well worth the year-long waits in between each movie.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Blu-ray gives an inside look (not quite as great as Edward’s mind-reading or Alice’s future-telling, but still extremely interesting) into the making of Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and 2, as the movies were filmed back to back.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2  is available today on DVD (March 2). Other new releases this week include Chasing Mavericks and All That You Possess. ~Renita Naraine
