Warner Bros. making changes to Gangster Squad due to Colorado shooting

Gangster Squad  is an upcoming star-studded 1940’s-based crime drama starring Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn and Emma Stone, that was set to release in early September. The trailer for the film was pulled immediately after the July 20th Colorado massacre at The Dark Knight Rises midnight screening, which left over 50 injured and 12 dead. The trailer featured a scene that showed four men stepping through a theater screen and firing machine guns at the audience – a moment which eerily resembled the real life tragedy. Now it turns out that not only does the trailer have to be changed, but quite possibly the film itself. Unfortunately, the scene is a pivotal part of the plotline, so simply cutting it out is likely not an option. If the scene is to be reworked it will probably require editing the script and reshooting some scenes, which will likely delay the release of the film.  ~Stacy Raivich
