Harrison Ford signs on for Anchorman 2

A new cast member is set to join Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, and Steve Carell in the highly anticipated, long-overdue sequel to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Harrison Ford, 70, has signed on to play a veteran newscaster and will begin filming later this month in Atlanta. Also joining the team is BridesmaidsKristen Wiig, who will be playing Brick Tamland’s (Carell) love interest. Ferrell will be returning as San Diego news presenter Ron Burgundy, with Christina Applegate as his rival, Veronica Corningstone, and Paul Rudd as lead field reporter, Brian Fantana. Ford has a number of projects releasing this year. He plays Branch Rickey in the Jackie Robinson biopic 42; Jock Goddard in Paranoia alongside Gary Oldman, and Colonel Hyrum Graff in an adaption of Orson Scott Card’s novel, Ender’s Game.  ~E. Guevarra
