20th Century Fox has picked up Hugh Jackman‘s newest film Eddie the Eagle, set for release April 29, 2016. The film also features Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton. Taron will be playing famous British ski jumper Eddie the Eagle and Hugh will be playing his trainer. The film will be directed by Dexter Fletcher.

Bill Condon‘s Mr. Holmes, starring Ian McKellen, is set to release on July 17, 2015. The film was adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from Mitch Cullin’s novel A Slight Trick of the Mind. Set in 1947, the film follows Sherlock Holmes in his later years as he deals with aging and a deteriorating mind.

Eddie Murphy is currently in talks to star in the upcoming biopic Richard Pryor. Mike Epps is set to star as the famous comedian, with Eddie Murphy possibly playing his father. The film is being directed by Lee Daniels and distributed by The Weinstein Company.

Josh Duhamel and Alice Eve have joined the cast of Beyond Deceit. A legal thriller, also starring Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino, the movie is about a young ambitious lawyer who takes on a big pharmaceutical company. He soon finds himself the prime suspect in a murder case. Shintaro Shimosawa will make his directing debut while Adam Mason and Simon Boyes have written the script.

Having gotten great reviews in the Oscar-nominated film Whiplash, Miles Teller has been rumored to star in the upcoming Canadian bank heist film, The Life and Times of the Stopwatch Gang. The film is said to be based on the article by Josh Dean, and will be directed by Ruben Fleischer. The article tells the tale of three bank robbers who stole $10 million from banks across Canada, without ever firing a bullet or getting caught.

Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf in Disney’s Frozenis the most recent actor to be cast in the upcoming live action version of Beauty and the Beast. He joins the cast as Le Fou, the bumbling, buffoon sidekick of Gaston. Gaston will be played by Luke Evans,  the Beast by Dan Stevens and Belle will be portrayed by Emma Watson. The film will be directed by Bill Condon and produced by David Doberman and Todd Lieberman.

Azita Ghanizada has joined the cast of the currently untitled Michael Shannon drama. The film is helmed by Joshua Marston and also stars Rachel Weisz, Danny Glover and Kathy Bates. Currently in pre-production, the film centers around a husband who has to decide whether or not he is moving with his wife, who was accepted to a graduate program. The decision becomes difficult when an old flame enters the picture. Shooting is to begin in New York City later this month.

Matt Damon, Willem Dafoe and Pedro Pascal have all been confirmed for Legendary’s newest film The Great Wall. Zhang Yimou is set to direct the film, while Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard, Ed Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz and Tony Gilroy have penned the script. Production is set to get underway at the end of this month.

Zach Galifianakis and Jon Hamm are starring together in the comedy Keeping Up With The Joneses. Isla Fisher and Gal Gadot will also star in the filmThe release is April 1, 2016, and is currently linked to 20th Century Fox. Greg Mottola, the director of Superbad, is set to direct. When new, hot neighbors move in next door, one suburban couple becomes suspicious of the new family.

Director Kevin Smith has confirmed the long-awaited sequel to the teenage cult classic MallratsMay 2016 has been named as the target date for production to begin. The script is said to be half-finished at the moment.
