Amanda Bynes’ doctors extend conservatorship

Amanda Bynes, 27, will remain in psychiatric hold for 30 more days, according to TMZ. The actress, who was involuntarily hospitalized for a mental evaluation last month, has been been deemed by doctors as not ready to attend today’s hearing over her parents’ bid for conservatorship. Sources told TMZ that a judge visited the hospital for an emergency hearing and granted the doctors’ request. Those deals are only legal if the patient is said to be, “gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder.” Regardless of the change of events, Bynes’ parents are reportedly still pursuing the conservatorship over their daughter. If granted, it would stay in effect until September 30. ~Alfonso Espina
