China says Christian Bale should be embarrassed

China is not impressed with Christian Bale. In a recent visit, The Dark Knight Rises star attempted to pay a visit to a human rights activist, Chen Ghuangcheng, who is still serving a house arrest sentence. Instead of shaking hands with the man like he had planned, Bale became involved in a scuffle with government-backed guards outside Ghuangcheng’s home. According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin, China shouldn’t be embarrassed about the incident. Bale, on the other hand, should.
The actor was invited to attend the opening ceremony for The Flowers of War, in which he plays an American in China during Japan’s Rape of Nanking, but that was it. “What I understand is that the actor was invited by the director Zhang Yimou to attend the movie premiere. He was not invited to any village in Shandong to create news or make a film. If he wants to create news, I don’t think that would be welcomed by China.” Weimin told Reuters. “If anyone should be embarrassed it’s the relevant actor, not the Chinese side.”

China should be embarrassed for the way they oppress their people and produce crappy products. And we should be embarrassed for buying them.

I’m with Al Money on this one
Having things made in China and other parts of the world is a good thing for the consumers. It drives prices down. Sure the quality of everything may not be the best, but that’s why it is cheaper. There will always be defects in manufacturing and the one offs where you get lead poisoning or some other random serious defect. But if you think those things don’t happen with any manufacturing facility in any country you’re kidding yourself, and being extremely prejudiced and misinformed by your anti Chinese media(propaganda). Are you really that naive to think that if you had everything made in the US with top notch build quality it would stop your unemployment rates? Think about it… if your goods don’t fail because of your amazing craftsmanship, there will be no need to keep buying your products, and you will eventually go out of business. The majority of consumers won’t even be able to afford your prices in the first place and would still look to buy the cheaply made goods from other parts of the world.
When will people learn that the USA is as oppressive and authoritative as China. There’s as much corruption in both governments, and there’s as much people in each country who loves and hates the leadership.
China is here to stay. Just look at how long their history is compared to the North Americas, and look how well they are still doing as a world super power/presence.
On topic, Christian Bale should be embarrassed. He’s invited to someone’s home(in this case China) as an honorary guest to celebrate something, but instead he decides to cause some sh!7(for whatever just reason). This is still very disrespectful regardless of where you’re going or where you’re from.
I wasn’t born in China, but I am Chinese. I still feel sorry for the Chinese people because they seem to always have lousy governments that only care for themselves and not the people. I also agree with the person who wrote “The Truth on Dec 22/11 @ 1.00 PM. Now the reason for this comment, Bravo to Mr. Bale, it says he was going to basically pay homage to a human rights activist Chen Ghuangcheng who is under house arrest, but of course in China you do not disobey the government, probably that is what caused the commotion with the guards, guess Mr Bale forget China is not free.
