Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie marriage over

It’s only been two weeks since the start of 2014, and one Hollywood couple is already headed for Splitsville. Recently, former Disney sweetheart Hilary Duff announced her split from husband Mike Comrie in a statement that surprised us all. A source told Us Weekly that the couple went to counseling for 18 months, but ultimately “the spark was no longer there.” The source also spilled the beans to Us about some of the couple’s conflicts: “She felt he didn’t put enough effort into the relationship.” Even though the couple have split, a friendly divorce is likely for them. Hilary’s mom Susan Duff told TMZ: “They’re better friends than a married couple.” The singer-actress and the former hockey player have already decided on joint custody of their 22-month-old son, Luca. There were no signs of marriage trouble for the couple, who were most recently spotted together on New Year’s Eve prior to their announcement. ~Yara Matar
